The Speed Art Museum Ball took place on Saturday, March 4, with all the usual sparkle and glamor of a black-tie gala. The evening began with a cocktail hour before the crowd shuffled to the tables for a sit-down dinner at  tables adorned with sprays of roses, tulips, hydrangeas, and other flowers signaling the coming spring season. The event is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Speed Art Museum, and it's held every first weekend in March.

LEO was there for the whole event, but we particularly loved the Late Night part of the evening, where the fancy event let its hair down for a good dance party.

The music was provided by Atlanta-based party band The Block Party Experience. Their set relied heavily on popular music from current artists like Beyoncé, Lizzo, Cardi B, and others, but there was definitely music for the more mature patrons at the party, including Motown and other soul favorites. The crowd spared no moves, dancing until the wee hours of the morning, many with shoes off and trailing ball gowns held cradled in arms.

Hats off to the planning committee, which included Demetrius and Danielle Gray, Jim Gray and Eric Orr, Kaveh and Heather Zamanian, and Speed executive director Raphaela Platow.
