The weather is getting warmer and the flowers are beginning to bloom. If you're in the mood to get out of the house and stretch your legs, Louisville's a city with plenty of places to take a nice, easy walk.

Sure, we are a car-dependent city for many things, but that doesn't mean we lack walkable places to enjoy our town. Curious about where to go? We've put together a list of 12 places to talk a walk — not an exhaustive list, of course, but a starting point.

 Big Four Bridge 
1101 River Rd. 
Its nickname is “the Walking Bridge” for a reason — it’s the only bridge in downtown Louisville that cars aren’t allowed on, although trains once traveled over it. It’s a fun (and free) way to see the downtown skyline and cross over to Indiana without paying bridge tolls.
